(Cambridge University, England).
Dr. Adams’
specialties in teaching are focused on Medieval and Reformation
studies, with additional interests in the history of worship,
spirituality, media, communications and the arts in the church.
As Faculty Mentor for Women’s Spirituality and
Leadership Development, she works in conjunction with the
Women’s Resource Network to provide opportunities for women to
deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Her book, Visions
in Late Medieval England: Lay Spirituality and Sacred Glimpses
of the Hidden Worlds of Faith (E. J. Brill, 2007)
explores the impact of visionary accounts in sermons, saints’
legends and religious instruction manuals on the worldview of
the medieval laity. Dr. Adams is currently researching the
2000-year history of the use of narrative and story in the life
of the church.
