5-7 (Teen Week #6); John Nix
www.haloproductions.net
John
is a product of God's grace and a godly heritage. Some of his earliest
memories are of a loving grandmother who offered chocolate in exchange
for the opportunity to teach him God's word. His father is a minister
and we are not sure that John wasn't born in church. But at the age of
seven, John realized that it wasn't church or a Christian family that he
needed for salvation... it was a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ. John had no idea how his journey with the L ord would go, but he
was committed to it. So committed, in fact, that at the age of sixteen,
he answered God's call into full time ministry where he chose to live in
an ocean of t-shirts and jeans because of a passion for student
ministry. After graduating from
William
Carey
College
,
he went on to attend both
New Orleans
and Mid America Baptist Theological Seminaries. John has been in youth
ministry for over 15 years where he has served on church staff, led
campus Bible studies, camps, retreats, seminars, conferences, and
revivals. Vertical Purpose Ministries is a vision that God placed in
John's heart in 1992. So, with the desire to see one million students
pray to receive Christ and a passion for sharing God's word, John
founded Vertical Purpose Ministries and authored the student devotional
"Fulfilling Life's Purpose." While serving in a local church
as student minister, John is also a spokesperson for the Christian Blind
Mission International and co-founder of Breakaway Conferences. In
addition, he serves as road pastor to some of today's leading Christian
artists, such as Brother's Keeper. John is a dynamic teacher and
communicator of God's word, leading students to a deeper relationship
with Jesus Christ. He is answering the upward call (Philippians
3:14
)
with a vertical purpose.
