meet the speakers
Dr. Thomas D. Petter B.A. (University of the Nations, Kona, HI); M.A.R., M.A. (Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary); M.A., Ph.D. (Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations, University of Toronto) is an Assistant Professor of Old Testament, 2006 at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Dr. Petter’s primary areas of expertise are Biblical Hebrew grammar and exegesis, Old Testament history and Near Eastern archaeology. Since 1987, he has taught on the mission field, in church settings and at several academic institutions in the US and Canada. A contributor to the Archaeological Study Bible (Zondervan) and the Dictionary of the Old Testament: Historical Books (IVP), Dr. Petter is preparing his dissertation on the emergence of Israel in Transjordan for publication. He is also actively involved in the publication project of Tell Dothan¹s Western Cemetery (cf. www.gcts.edu/dothan). Born and raised in French-speaking Switzerland, Dr. Petter first came to the US in 1986. His passion is for the expository preaching of the biblical text and the promotion of theological education in sub-Saharan Africa. His ministerial affiliation is with the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference.
Donna L. Petter, Ph.D (cand.), B.A. (University of the Nations, Kona, HI); M.A.R., M.A. (Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary); M.A., Ph.D. (University of Toronto, Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations) is an Assistant Professor of Old Testament, 2006; Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Professor Petter has over 20 years of extensive classroom experience, She has taught biblical studies over four different continents. She has also contributed to various Old Testament publications including Vetus Testamentum and the Dictionary of the O.T. Historical Books (IVP). Her research interests include Biblical Hebrew Grammar and Syntax, Hebrew Exegesis, Women in the Bible, and Ancient Near Eastern Religions. Professor Petter’s doctoral dissertation compares the book of Ezekiel with ancient Mesopotamian lament literature.

Non-Resident: $50 for first person; $25 per additional family member.
Resident: $25 for first person; $12.50 per additional family member.
Volunteer: $0. There are limited, scheduled jobs for volunteers.
conference information
The format for the conference is a ‘long weekend’ beginning with check-in on Thursday after 4:00 p.m. The conference ends on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
The conference is comprised of five meetings (Friday through Sunday AM) and sometimes small groups. There is a special event on Saturday night (concert, campfire, skit night, auction, etc.).
Meetings are typically grouped in the morning, leaving afternoon for family rest, recreation and renewal both on and off-site.
Activities are available to residents and guests during the weekend.
